Excuses we have all made and heard!
We have all made them, the first step is admitting that to yourself! Even the most dedicated athletes out there at the top of their professions get days, weeks and months, feeling no progression has been achieved and boredom is setting in.
The list of 20 excuses I have listed below are reasons I have heard countless times every week for the last decade. Even I have used of a few of them!
So how do we move from excuses to action? Firstly, find that goal that you believe to be achievable and desirable. Create a short term, medium and long term goal and monitor your progress.
Use techniques and training methods you enjoy whether they are inside a gym or outside. My clients often say to me that they can't stand that machine or that exercise... From experience I have noticed a pattern which shows if your repeatedly make your clients do these exercises you can clearly see their efforts and interest drop.
I am an awful swimmer, I have zero interest in swimming! If a trainer made me swim lengths I would do it, but I would only be going through the motions and not achieving very much.
Find what you enjoy, stick to it and strive towards your goals.....
Remember....Consistency is Key!
